Which girl, and certainly which boy, has never wanted to be an actor and be in the limelight? But getting there is usually not easy. And often a child’s dream simply turns into a wonderful hobby. This was the case for the ten members of Theater LuST, an association in Lich-Steinstraß that belongs to the Heimatverein Lich-Steinstraß e.V. and gave its first performance in 2008.
What do members need to bring to the theater? Empathy, in order to put themselves in the role, says Yasmin Hilger. Passion and commitment. Rehearsals accompany you throughout the year, says Heike Hilger. Imagination to get into the character and the story, says Petra Brandt. In any case, team spirit and fun dressing up, says Andrea Heinrichs. Hans-Dieter Emunds believes that a willingness to step out of one’s own character is required.
And what do you get out of acting? “Applause, applause!” laughs Andrea Heinrichs. Petra Brandt experiences a sense of community and togetherness. It is also intergenerational, explains Heike Hilger of the club structure. And there’s something different every year.
