The Purzelbaum daycare center in Broich is among the top 10 facilities nationwide. In the German Daycare Prize from the German Children and Youth Foundation, 668 daycare centers applied for the “Daycare Center of the Year” category. The Broich center was the only daycare from North Rhine-Westphalia to qualify for the finals. The Purzelbaum daycare center in Jülich-Broich represents the entire district of Düren with its inclusive and professional child care. The AöR Kreismäuse is the sponsor of the facility.
For the decision-making process, two experts from the Berlin Institute for Quality Development in Daycare, Franziska Larrá and Štěpánka Busuleanu, visited the daycare center. On-site, they observed daily activities in the facility and conducted discussions with the educators, the children, and the parents.
“We sometimes have children with a 45-hour booking with us. That’s a lot of time, and it’s important to us that the children feel comfortable here. The same goes for the parents, as this has a positive impact on the children,” said Stefanie Kleinermanns, the director of the Purzelbaum daycare center.
