History clubs should always keep traditions in mind – in fact, the Jülich club itself has founded one: In addition to a varying, date-independent lecture program, the “Wednesday Club” has been opening its doors on the last Wednesday of every month since 1990.
Jülicher Geschichtsverein 1923 e.V. and Museum Zitadelle Jülich jointly invite you to this lecture series, which takes place at 7.30 p.m. in the castle chapel of Zitadelle Jülich.
Current events such as public campaigns, exhibitions or anniversaries are usually taken up. The Jülich History Society always succeeds in engaging renowned guests as speakers.
Another historically significant date between April and October is the 1st Sunday of the month. The Förderverein Festung Zitadelle always offers a free guided tour starting at 11 am. The focus is on different topics: Castle and Citadel Fortress, but also the Pasqualine Old Town or the fortress complex. A visit to the castle cellar is always included, although admission is subject to a charge. Registration is not required.
