There are awards that you simply can’t lose anymore, simply because the competition no longer exists:
It was July 12, 1969, when SC Jülich 1910 beat SpVgg Erkenschwick 2:1 in the final at the Grotenburg Stadium in Krefeld and returned to the ducal city as German champions. Almost all of Jülich was on its feet and stood guard. In the following years, 1970 and 1971, the ten-man team also returned home with the coveted trophy.
This is how SC Jülich 1910/97 the title of “three-time German amateur champions” has eternal value. The “Zehner”, as they are known in Jülich, remain the most successful amateur soccer club in Germany.
In the meantime, after a few internal and sporting ups and downs, the team has joined the Rurland players’ association and currently plays in the Kreisliga A.
Known is the SC Jülich 1910/97 has been organizing its summer vacation camp for over 20 years. It always takes place in the first week of the summer vacation. Around 100 children enjoy sport here, as well as celebrating community and international togetherness.
