Fancy relaxing on a bike? As part of a school project for the 2022 training year of the city of Jülich, family-friendly cycle routes have been developed that pass various playgrounds in the city of Jülich. The cycle routes make it easy to discover the diversity of Jülich and get to know the playgrounds in a new way. The routes are divided into three levels of difficulty. 1. raccoon route (2 km) – The raccoon route allows a short and beautiful exploration of Jülich’s city center and is ideal for spontaneous excursions or short tours. 2. hippopotamus route (6 km) – The medium-length hippopotamus route offers a varied combination of a visit to the citadel and a leisurely ride along the Rur. It is ideal for relaxed outings and is particularly child-friendly as it passes many playgrounds. 3rd Giraffe Route (10 km) – The Giraffe Route, the longest route, offers a varied mix of impressions. It runs through the lively city center as well as along the Rur and is ideal for family outings. There are many highlights along the route, including playgrounds, a pump track and a football pitch, which make the trip exciting for the whole family. All tours start and end at Schlossplatz and run through traffic-calmed areas to provide a safe and relaxed cycling experience. Each tour can be customized.
