The Christmas market lives from the new and the traditional. The Punch and Judy show is always eagerly awaited. He always makes his grand entrance on Thursdays. St. Nicholas is also part of the permanent staff. He comes with a particularly full sack every Saturday and Sunday and hands out sweets on the Schlossplatz. There is a family day with reduced prices on Fridays, when all exhibitors offer reduced prices. Carriage rides are traditionally offered. Departure is always from the stage on the Schlossplatz.
The magic of the stalls lasts until December 22. If you don’t have a Christmas tree at home by this time, you can take one of the 150 fir trees that line the paths of the Schlossplatz home with you.
At the start of the Christmas market, the member stores of the advertising association, which organizes the Christmas market, will once again be handing out Christmas raffle tickets. The winning numbers can be found in the stores at the turn of the year and are published at www.werbegemeinschaft-juelich.de.
