The city of Jülich is not only located in the center of the northern district of Düren, it is also perfectly situated in the city triangle of the major conurbations of Cologne, Aachen and Düsseldorf as well as the Euregio Meuse-Rhine, close to the metropolitan areas of Heerlen, Maastricht and Liège. As a medium-sized center with around 34,000 inhabitants – and rising – the city is constantly developing under the slogan “Historic fortress city – modern research city” and breathes history just as much as it is driven by the wind of the future under its sails.
