A gem of chamber music in Jülich

Every month, friends of classical music come together in the Renaissance chapel of the Citadel Fortress. The series is known as the “Jülich Castle Concerts”.

Program suggestions and artistic supervision were initially in the hands of Georg Bischof, the outstanding music teacher at the Jülich grammar school since 1951. Susanne Trinkaus and Thomas Palm, two musicians who were already well known not only in Jülich, took over the work seamlessly and advised the municipal cultural department on the program design from the 1995/96 season in the established tradition. In addition to pieces by popular and well-known composers, modern music literature was also regularly performed. Recognized performers alternated time and again with talented young musicians who were still at the beginning of a promising career.

A turning point in the organization was the founding of the non-profit association “Schlosskonzerte Jülich e.V.” on 2 December 2003, when the city withdrew from financing and organizing the castle concerts. Susanne and Dr. Helmut Trinkaus formed the founding board together with Thomas Palm, Karin Witte and Dr. Gerhard Pirug.

Since then, the association of the same name has organized the concert series

What Jülich offers for

*Dividing people into age groups provides a useful way of organizing and matching interests and activities. This allows like-minded people with similar life experiences and needs to come together to encourage social interaction and shared activities. However, it should be noted that this categorization is not always universally valid, as we humans have different interests and preferences. For example, a toddler may also enjoy senior bingo. Nevertheless, we have not grouped this activity into this category. The categorization only serves as a guidance!
